What “one subscription, the whole household” actually means

It is not marketing shorthand for a single login shared between two people. Your subscription includes an invite for your partner. They sign up with their own account and their own password, join your household, and are covered by your subscription. Neither of you is ever logging in as the other, and neither of you is buying a second plan.

Once you are linked, the forecast covers both of you. You can look at the household as a whole, at the joint money on its own, or at either person individually, which matters because most couples do not pool everything. A joint account for the shared bills and personal accounts for the rest is exactly how the model is built. More on that on the couples page.

Children are included on the same subscription too. Add each child, give their account a balance and a monthly amount, and CrestCast projects what it grows into by the target age you pick, shown in today’s money as well as future pounds. There is no per-child charge and no family add-on. See the families page for how that fits together.

What one subscription actually covers

A Switch view sheet listing Alex as you, Jordan as partner, Joint as shared, Olivia and Noah for savings, and Combined as the overview, with Combined ticked
Six views of one household, on one subscription: each partner, the joint money, each child, and the whole thing combined. This is the sample household, not a real one.

A fixed price, not a percentage of what you have built

The usual answer to a complicated financial life is to pay somebody a percentage of it, every year, to model your future and explain what it means. That works, and for some people it is the right call. It is also a bill that grows every time your net worth does, for work that does not get proportionally harder.

CrestCast is a fixed £7.99 a month for the household. The same figure whether the forecast is showing you a good year or a bad one, and the same figure at any level of wealth. You can see the workings, change any assumption, and keep the decisions. It is a planning tool, not a financial adviser: it does not recommend products or tell you what to do.

What you pay

£7.99 a month, or £79.99 a year, and the two buy exactly the same thing. One subscription covers the whole household, and you can cancel at any time from your account settings.

You can try it before paying: every new account gets a 14-day free trial with full access, and no card is needed to start it. A card is required when you subscribe, through Stripe, and the free period is 14 days in total: subscribe on day ten and the remaining four days are still free, rather than a fresh trial starting.

The prices on this page are the same figures written into the terms. Separately, every calculator on this site is free to use with no account at all.

Cancelling, and what happens to your data

You can cancel at any time from your account settings. There are no contracts and no lock-in. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel first.

Your financial data stays yours. CrestCast claims no rights to it, and you can export it or delete it outright at any time from your account settings, so nothing is stranded behind a subscription you have stopped. If you delete your account, all associated personal and financial data is permanently deleted within 30 days. If CrestCast were ever discontinued you would get at least 30 days of notice and a means to export everything. The privacy policy sets out how it is stored in the meantime, and CrestCast never connects to your bank, so it only ever holds what you chose to put in.

Common questions

How much does CrestCast cost?

£7.99 a month, or £79.99 a year. The annual plan is a 17% saving on twelve monthly payments: £6.67 a month, £15.89 less over the year. Both prices are inclusive of VAT where applicable, and one subscription covers your whole household rather than one person.

Is there a free tier or a free trial?

There is a free trial: every new account gets full access for 14 days from sign-up, and no card is needed to start it. A card is required when you subscribe, and if you subscribe partway through the trial the remaining free days carry over rather than starting again, so the free period is 14 days in total. There is one published plan, the household plan on this page, and no ongoing free tier. Separately, the calculators on this site are free to use with no account at all.

Do my partner and I each need our own subscription?

No. One subscription covers the whole household. Your partner joins with their own login, keeps their own account, and is covered by yours. You are not paying twice to plan together.

Is the price based on how much money I have?

No. It is a fixed price for the household. The usual alternative, paying somebody a percentage of what you have built every year, costs more the better you do. This does not. The bill is the same whether your net worth goes up or down.

Can I cancel?

Any time. No contracts, no lock-in. Cancel from your account settings and billing stops at the end of the current period. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel.

What happens to my data if I stop paying?

You own your financial data and CrestCast claims no rights to it. You can export it, or delete it outright, at any time from your account settings, so you can take everything with you before a subscription ends. If you delete your account, all associated personal and financial data is permanently deleted within 30 days. If CrestCast were ever discontinued, you would get at least 30 days of notice and a means to export your data.

Who handles the payment?

Stripe. CrestCast does not store your card details. Stripe passes back a customer ID and a subscription status, and nothing more.

Does it connect to my bank?

No, and that is deliberate. CrestCast never links to your bank. You decide what it knows, and nothing is pulled in automatically. You can import a bank statement CSV if you want to, and that is processed on your device.

Can I plan for my children on the same subscription?

Yes. Children are part of the household, not an extra. Add each child, give their account a balance and a monthly amount, and CrestCast projects what it grows into by the target age you pick, in today’s money as well as future pounds.

This is not advice

CrestCast is a forecasting and planning tool, not regulated financial advice. Figures are projections based on what you enter and the assumptions you choose, and the future rarely matches any forecast exactly. For decisions with real consequences, speak to a qualified adviser about your own circumstances.

One price, the whole household, every decision.

£7.99 a month or £79.99 a year covers both of you and the children too. Model the decision before you make it and see what it does to your net worth, your cashflow and the date every debt clears.
