About CrestCast

CrestCast is a personal finance forecasting application for UK households, operated by Luke Walsh (trading as CrestCast). By creating an account or using CrestCast, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Not financial advice

CrestCast is a modelling and forecasting tool. The figures it produces are projections based on the information you enter, not advice or recommendations. Nothing in CrestCast constitutes financial, tax, investment, or legal advice.

For decisions that may significantly affect your finances, mortgages, investments, pension planning, tax, you should consult a qualified professional. CrestCast is a planning aid, not a substitute for professional advice.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You must not share your account with others or use CrestCast on behalf of another person without their consent.

You must be 18 or older to create an account. By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate.

Subscription and billing

CrestCast is offered as a monthly subscription at £5.99 per month, inclusive of VAT where applicable. A 14-day free trial is available to new accounts. Your card is not charged until the trial ends.

Subscriptions renew automatically each month unless cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain access until then.

We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. If you cancel mid-month, access continues until the period end and no further charges are made.

Payments are processed by Stripe. CrestCast does not store your card details.

Your data

You own your financial data. We do not claim any rights to it. See our Privacy Policy for full details of how your data is stored and protected.

You can export or delete your data at any time from your account settings.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use CrestCast for any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or resell the service.
  • Introduce malware or attempt to disrupt the service.
  • Use automated tools to access the service without permission.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, without notice where necessary.

Service availability

We aim to keep CrestCast available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We may carry out maintenance, release updates, or experience downtime. We will do our best to notify users in advance of planned maintenance.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service with reasonable notice. If we discontinue CrestCast, we will give at least 30 days' notice and provide a means to export your data.

Limitation of liability

CrestCast is provided “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose.

We are not liable for any financial decisions made on the basis of CrestCast's projections, or for any indirect, consequential, or incidental loss arising from use of the service.

Our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid for the service during that period.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of CrestCast after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
